IFB for ENG over ATSC

The Nucomm ProQ DTV IFB Receiver provides a low-latency multiplechannel audio IFB decoder using a DTV broadcast transmission.

Through dual UHF/VHF antennas, two advanced silicon tuners and 6th generation VSB demodulators, the ProQ achieves robust DTV signal reception. The ProQ then creates a single transport stream from the two inputs by rejecting packets with errors and accepting error-free
packets.

The ProQ contains an MPEG Layer 1/Layer 2 audio decoder that is capable of decoding two independent sound programs, providing up to four audio channels and using bit rates as low as 32 kbps for each. Coupled with a low-latency audio encoders and proper design of the DTV packet insertion, total audio latency can be less than 80 ms. Designed with its audio signal outputs on a 5-pin XLR connector.

Designed for easy and rapid user configuration, broadcasters can easily select the DTV channel and audio program PIDs using either the menus on the front panel LCD display or the Web interface. It can also map the IFB audio channels to either the XLR outputs, internal speaker or headphones. Status information, such as RF signal level/quality, DTV signal lock and audio levels, is available through ProQ DTV IFB Receiver's Web interface and is updated in real-time on the front panel LCD display.
In keeping with the industry's rapid evolution in technology as well as audio compression and encapsulation standards, ProQ DTV IFB Receiver's firmware-based audio decoder is upgradable. As an IP-enabled device, it is strategically designed for advancement through the built-in Ethernet interface using a laptop computer and a Web browser.
